KIREM, JULY 04: To equip parish leaders with modern communication skills, the Commission for Social Communication, Kinnigoli Deanery (Mangalore North), organised a comprehensive training session and meeting on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Shalom Hall, Kirem Church.

The training focused heavily on the modernisation of church administration and media outreach. Rev. Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes, Diocesan Secretary for the Commission for Social Communication, led the session as the primary resource person. He provided an in-depth overview of the roles and responsibilities of parish media teams as outlined in the Diocesan Pastoral Plan.

 July 5, 2026:Addressing the critical need for digital literacy in today's rapidly advancing technological landscape, Guardian Angels Church, Angelore, hosted an interactive workshop titled "Smart & Safe Youth in the AI & Digital World" on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Held at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall, the collaborative session brought together approximately 200 children, youth, and their parents to foster a shared understanding of digital wellbeing and cyber security.

The initiative was jointly organized by the parish's Commission for Education, Youth Commission, and Commission for Social Communication.

 AUG 2,2026: In commemoration of the 'Year of Children', St Antony Church, Ujire, organized ‘Genesis 2K26’, a comprehensive student empowerment camp, at the Anugraha English Medium Primary School Hall on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Jointly hosted by the Catholic Sabha Ujire Unit, the Commission for the Family, and the Commission for Education, the day-long event focused on preparing Gen Alpha students and their parents for modern career opportunities, financial planning, and emerging technologies. 

July 25 ,2026: The AI Video Editing Studio hosted a hands-on workshop for the Hospital + Nursing College Media Team on _AI-Integrated Digital Storytelling_. 

They learned to create impactful videos, reels, and campaigns that make medical and health awareness simple, visual, and human.

Mangaluru, Dec 1: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, successfully hosted a specialized Management Development Program (MDP) focused on prompt engineering and ai tools for clergy and religious on November 26. The programme, organized by the Department of Business Administration, equipped spiritual leaders with essential skills for leveraging Artificial Intelligence in their work and ministry.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2025: In a timely and crucial initiative, the Commission for Social Communication of the Diocese of Mangalore, in collaboration with the St. Mathew's Deanery (Moodbidri Varado), successfully organized a comprehensive training program on "Cyber Safety" today. The event, held at the Corpus Christi Church Hall, drew an enthusiastic crowd of around 100 participants from 14 parishes across the deanery. 

SEPTEMBER 19, 2025: The intensive 5-day digital ministry course integrated with AI for Bethany Tertians, Mangaluru. 

They gained hands-on skills in Script writing, design, photography, video creation, website building, and crucial practices for cyber safety and digital wellness. They are now equipped to bring their contemplative calling to the digital world.

The workshop was held on Sunday, December 15 at St Joseph PU College, Karwar, and brought together principals, institutional heads, technical staff, and teachers from KDES-managed institutions. 

NOV 11: “Now I am confident to explore the vast world of AI. I realize now that AI doesn’t take away jobs if we learn to use it. It actually enhances our creativity when applied ethically,” the principal of St Mary’s PU College, Shirva, said after attending the November 11 workshop at the Anugraha Pastoral Centre, Udupi, in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.

JULY 17: The Commission for Social Communication, Mangalore Diocese organized a groundbreaking workshop titled "No-Code No-Cost Website for Parishes" at Shanthi Kiran Hall, Bajjodi, Mangalore. 🖥️✨

135 representatives from 86 parishes explored the potential of Google Sites for creating parish websites with no cost and no coding skills needed. 🌐🙏

The workshop featured hands-on sessions led by my expert resource team. Participants learned how to use GOOGLE SITES,  Canva for graphic design, best practices for website management, and technical details like custom themes, content moderation, and SEO techniques. 🖌️📈
